About
The Correct Baseball Hall of Fame is a grassroots initiative to correct and improve the normal Baseball Hall of Fame.
An augmentation, so-to-speak.
Philosophy / Mandate
In principle, the Correct Baseball Hall of Fame does not disagree with any entrants into the normal Baseball Hall of Fame, but it does hold the perspective that some worthy entrants are not currently a part of the normal Baseball Hall of Fame.
What is Missing in the Normal Baseball Hall of Fame
Currently, the normal Baseball Hall of Fame recognizes with distinction a player's career performance and entry is voted by some sort of panel of various baseball-oriented types (including media).
This is generally acceptable.
The Correct Baseball Hall of Fame seeks to recognize performances or occurrences that are worthy of full recognition and acknowledgement from the normal Baseball Hall of Fame based on a number of foundational criteria.
Players Who Should Be in the Normal Baseball Hall of Fame
Whether by virtue of 'gut feelings' or modern day statistical algorithm / machine learning analysis, this category recognizes players who should be enshrined in the normal Baseball Hall of Fame as the other former players.
The Single Game Wing
There have been several tens of thousands of games of professional Major League Baseball played in the last under-200 years.
The Correct Baseball Hall of Fame holds the position that a player should be eligible for full recognition of enshrinement in the Baseball Hall of Fame if the player accomplishes a feat that is noteworthy enough to stand in high regard of all the other tens of thousands of games in the history of Major League Baseball.
The Single Season Wing
There have been over 100 seasons (as of this composition) of Major League Baseball.
Unique occurrences within the backdrop of this vast landscape are worthy of induction into the Baseball Hall of Fame to the same regard as any seasoned player.
The Correct Baseball Hall of Fame acknowledges that by virtue of putting this motion forward, it opens the doors to individuals to attempting to reach the arbitrary 'unique occurrence' criteria by attempting any number of unorthodox tactics, ie:
- Shifting the entire defense to Right-Field (based on 'stats')
- Creating baseball's first '9-man-rotation'
However, due to Major League Baseball's professional and skeptical nature, any illegitimate 'unique occurrence' will be held to the appropriate level of skepticism prior to a motion to entry.
