i am about to learn more about spin rate first-hand
observe as the ball starts up high
oh! but not high enough!
it is on the way down too soon!!!!
that circle on the dirt is where the ball hit, with lots of top-spin…
that circle on the mask of the catcher is where it is now…
hitting the mask…
but with a pitcher who stands like this…
it all becomes normal.

Joe Maddon gets up.

He calls a team meeting and makes the announcement:

“I am Mike Trout.”

Shohei glances to his left, then right before pulling off his bio-suit, revealing his mech-skeleton and accompanying circuitry.

Anthony Rendon, who is sitting in the Lotus position in the center of the clubhouse, begins to levitate off the floor and the ‘Rendon’ on his locker shape-shifts to read “Golden Buddha”

Collisions

How many collisions or near-collisions are there?

What does this tell us?

Baseball is like the weather.

They should be showing replays of some of these current collisions at the Annual Players’ Meeting as a warning.

One might not be too extreme to predict that someone will die on the field In the next 2 years.

A collision between a batter / baserunner and a first baseman that came out of nowhere!

Both players need to leave the game.

Think Bryce Harper’s near miss.

Sometimes, people laugh when I take a quick breath when players run towards each other, but you just need to watch a small sample of games to see how powerful these guys are: 200 lbs x 10 feet/second of momentum going one way and 200 lbs x 10 feet/second going the other is like running into a tree.

Now imagine at full sprint speed 20+ feet/second!

And the pitchers and batters are loaded guns when it comes to the ball.

Anecdote:

I remember in cricket 5-years back or more, a guy deflected the ball on his swing and it hit him in the throat and that was it for him.

And he was wearing the full cage helmet and protective gear.
